Handgun 102A and 102B - Intermediate Handgun Skills

102A and 102B

Once students have received foundational training and know how to safely handle a handgun, it’s time to do more shooting.

Seeking to make this the safest and most productive learning experience for our students, we are keeping the curriculum, but separating the classes into two parts:  102 Part A and 102 Part B

Prerequisite:

Completion of Handgun 101 or its equivalent. Students MUST be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, and unload a handgun.

Topics to be covered:
  • Brief review of firearms safety
  • Shooting fundamentals - grip, stance, sight alignment/sight picture, trigger, follow through
  • Drawing handgun from holster to target and safely back to holster
  • Malfunction clearance
  • Single-hand shooting, with strong and support hand
  • Reloading
  • Refine shooting technique
Course is approximately four hours in duration

Required Equipment:
  • Full size or compact semi-automatic pistol preferred
  • 250 rounds
  • 3 magazines
  • Magazine pouch
  • Dominant side, hip mounted or belt mounted holster
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Closed toe shoes
  • No low cut necklines
  • Water; lunch/snacks
  • Hat and sunscreen, recommended
Additional Notes:

Each class is 2.5 to 3 hours in duration. Tuition is $150 per person with a two person limit per class.  Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the instructor.

 **Students who are unable to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or cannot demonstrate the minimum skills required may be removed from class.
